A new textbook on "Quantum Mechanics", in portuguese, for undergraduate (typically third year) students, has just been released by the Aveiro University publisher, authored by Gr@v member C. Herdeiro.
The book is complemented by recorded lectures and problem classes, the latter given by Gr@v member João Rosa, which can be found here.
Gr@v postdoctoral researcher Jai Grover, who has been a member of the group since 2012, has accepted a research fellow position with the European Space Agency. While there he will perform research and monitor new developments in fundamental physics that might have implications for present and future ESA missions. Congratulations Jai!
Helgi Rúnarsson, a graduate student at Gr@v, was the top ranked student in the call for PhD grants of the MAP-Fis joint doctoral program of Minho, Aveiro and Porto Universities. Well done Helgi!
Our group is participating in the organization of the II Physics Meeting in Amazonia, to take place at Universidade Federal do Pará, Belém, Brazil, from 24-28 November 2014. This is a joint meeting of researchers in various topics including gravitational physics and condensed matter. See a beautiful movie about the meeting here.
The University of Aveiro provides a platform to host projects with repositories for version control at code.ua.pt, for members of the University with an email address. Besides providing space for a repository where the files of the project are under version control and can be viewed, edited, shared by several members; it has a very convenient online interface and allows to set up wiki pages for the users to edit and share.
