Abstract: We discuss the importance backreaction in flux compactifications of 10-dimensional supergravity. We will review the ideas of flux compactifications and construct exact backreacted solutions, using the concrete example of supersymmetric domain wall in 7-dimensional gauged supergravity.
Abstract: Superradiance is a radiation enhancement process that involves dissipative systems. In General Relativity, black-hole superradiance is permitted by dissipation at the event horizon that allows for energy and angular momentum extraction from the vacuum, even at the classical level.
Abstract: Spherically symmetric black hole solutions of Einstein-Yang-Mills (EYM) theory have been studied for 25 years. In the past 15 years there has been a particular focus on EYM black holes in anti-de Sitter space (adS) since, unlike the situation in asymptotically flat space, in adS stable hairy EYM black holes exist.
Abstract: The study of higher dimensional black holes, branes and their possible interactions is an active field of research in several different areas of modern theoretical physics. One interesting direction, which has been recently introduced by V.
