Gr@v is a team of researchers, based at the Mathematics and Physics Department of Aveiro University, Portugal, working on strong gravity and high energy physics. The group was established in 2010. In January 2015 Gr@v integrated the FCT funded CIDMA research unit (UIDB/04106/2020 and UIDP/04106/2020), as the Gravitational Geometry and Dynamics research group. The group scientific coordinator is C. Herdeiro.

Gr@v members participated in the 13th Marcel Grossmann Meeting, which took place in Stockholm, presenting talks on n-DBI gravity (Flávio Coelho), Shock Wave Collisions (Carlos Herdeiro and Marco Sampaio), Hawking Radiation (Mengjie Wang) and Numerical Relativity (Miguel Zilhão).
TEDx Aveiro 2012 took place on Saturday May 26th 2012, with the theme "Beyond the Limits", gathering 700 people in Aveiro's Congress Centre. Carlos Herdeiro was one of the invited speakers, presenting the TED talk "Space-time whispers" on gravitational radiation: "beyond the limits of vision...

The workshop "The power challenges of Mega-Science infrastructures: the example of SKA", co-organized by Domingos Barbosa will take place in Moura, Portugal and Sevilla, Spain on 20th-21st June 2012. This workshop intends to review current R&D trends, industry forecasts for solar energy options and experiences that may respond to the challenges set by Mega Science Infrastructures and in particular by the Square Kilometer Array project.
Theoretical arguments suggest that an ultra-relativistic particle collision forms a black hole with a strong emission of gravitational radiation. A study by a team of Gr@v researchers, published in Physical Review Letters, shows that this radiation follows a remarkable and mysterious pattern.
