Research:
My research is focused in the field of theoretical and mathematical physics of compact objects, with interests in computational and numerical techniques. I have done a large part of my work on applications of the large D expansion of General Relativity, which uses perturbative series in a large number of dimensions to greatly simplify the equations and extract analytical information about the physics of black holes. I have also worked on applications of AdS/CFT holography to the physics of strongly coupled quantum field theories. Some other directions that I have explored are modified gravity theories, and the Strong Cosmic Censorship conjecture. More recently, I have been working on applications of Machine Learning techniques and Artificial Intelligence to the field of astrophysics and gravitation. These include the so-called Phyisics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) for the computation of quasinormal mode spectra, the creation of numerical waveform surrogate models of exotic compact objects, as well as more sophisticated techniques such as Fourier neural operators.
