Farewell to Ana (and Romain)

On February 3rd, 2026, our group, together with a few special guests, gathered to bid farewell to our dear colleague Ana Bokulic, who is returning to her hometown of Zagreb. It was a lovely occasion to share memories and good wishes. We also said goodbye to our friend Romain Gervalle (in absentia) as he returns to France. We look forward to welcoming you both again soon!

Haroldo Lima Junior in Aveiro

Our friend and collaborator Haroldo Junior visited Aveiro for a few weeks in February 2026. A former PhD student in Belém/Aveiro and now a faculty member at Universidade Federal do Maranhão in São Luís, it was a pleasure to have him back. In the photo, Haroldo is joined by our very esteemed secretary, Cristina.

João Pino Gonçalves is now a Doctor!

On 9 January, João Pino Gonçalves, a collaborator of CIDMA’s GGD group, successfully defended his PhD thesis, "Gravitational and collider observables in BSM models." The jury was composed of José Pedro (University of Aveiro), Margarete Mühlleitner (KIT), Matthew McCullough (CERN), Liliana Apolinário (LIP and IST), Miguel Zilhão (CIDMA and University of Aveiro) and the supervisor António Morais (LIP and University of Minho). Congratulations, João!

Roman's visit

We kicked off 2026 with a get-together alongside collaborators Roman Pasechnik and Antonio Morais. A special highlight: the next generation joined in as well - future scientists already in the making!
