Abstract: We discuss how space-time singularities inside black holes can be resolved using the Palatini approach for modified gravity. In this approach metric and affine connection are taken as independent variables. This generically leads to theories with second-order field equations, recovery of Minkowski/AdS space in vacuum and absence of ghosts. Working in electrovacuum scenarios we show that point-like singularities are generically removed using wormholes. Using the key concept of geodesic completeness and some additional criteria, we show that the new structures represent non-singular space-times. Several extensions of General Relativity are considered as particular examples
