Teleparallelism Equivalent to General Relativity

Abstract: Teleparallel gravity is an alternative theory of gravitation. It is entirely equivalent to General Relativity in what concerns dynamical evolution. The main advantage of such a theory is that in its realm it is possible to define an expression for the gravitational energy. Teleparallel gravity is formulated in terms of tetrad fields which are the dynamical variables of the theory. The geometrical framework of Teleparallel gravity is the Weitzenböck geometry in which the Cartan connection plays an important role. It will be presented the fundamentals of Teleparallel gravity.
