Gr@v is a team of researchers, based at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, working on gravitational physics in the context of astrophysics, cosmology and high energy physics. The group was established in 2010. In January 2015 Gr@v integrated the FCT funded CIDMA research unit (project UID/MAT/04106/2019), as the Gravitational Geometry and Dynamics research group.
Our group co-organized and participated in the Amazonian workshop on Black Holes and Analogue models of gravity, held at Universidade Federal do Pará, in Belém do Pará, gateway to the Amazonian region of Brazil from 7-9 August 2012.
Watch a movie made by Luis Carlos Crispino with photos of the meeting and of Belém do Pará.
Gr@v members participated in the 13th Marcel Grossmann Meeting, which took place in Stockholm, presenting talks on n-DBI gravity (Flávio Coelho), Shock Wave Collisions (Carlos Herdeiro and Marco Sampaio), Hawking Radiation (Mengjie Wang) and Numerical Relativity (Miguel Zilhão).
The radio program Click, of the journalist Catarina Lázaro, broadcasted by the portuguese national radio station, Antena 1, has recently interviewed two Gr@v researchers (Alexandre Correia and Carlos Herdeiro) to learn about some of the research done at the University of Aveiro in the area of gravitational physics. Listen here (AC) and here (CH) to the broadcastings (in portuguese).
