Name: Mercè Guerrero
Position: Junior Research Fellow (2024-2025)
Research:
My research focuses on finding regular solutions of compact objects within modified theories of gravity, and identifying new features in their shadows that might allow us to identify them. Currently, I am interested in analyzing the imprints of modified theories on various observational aspects, such as gravitational waves or high-energy photons coming from a gamma-ray burst.
Education:
2019-2023: PhD in Physics at Complutense University of Madrid (Spain)
Thesis: Compact objects in Ricci-Based Gravities: Theory and Phenomenology
Supervisor: Diego Rubiera-Garcia
2017-2018: Master in High Energy Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology at Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE), Institut de Ciències de l’Espai (ICE) and Autonomous University of Barcelona.
2013-2017: Bachelor’s degree at Autonomous University of Barcelona.
