Jai Grover and João Rosa join Gr@v

Two new postdoctoral researchers, Jai Grover (Ph.D. Cambridge University, UK, 2011) and João Rosa (Ph.D. Oxford University, UK, 2010) will join our research team, in the area of relativistic gravitation and high energy physics, in 2012. Welcome Jai and João!

Jai Grover was born in Toronto, Canada in 1981. He did his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Toronto, before moving to the Departament of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics of  the University of Cambridge, U.K., to study for yet another Master degree (Master of Advanced Study in Mathematics) and then for his Ph.D., under the supervision of Dr. Jan Gutowski. His main topic of research has been the study of supersymmetric solutions in supergravity and string theory.

João Rosa was born in Portugal in 1982. He did his B.Sc. at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, before moving to the University of Cambridge, U.K., where he did a Masters of Advanced Studies in Mathematics, at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. Subsequently, he did his Ph.D. at the Rudolf Peirels Centre for Theoretical Physics, at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Prof. John March-Russell, with the thesis "Aspects of beyond the Standard Model string phenomenology". Since October 2010, João has been a post-doctoral research associate at the particle theory group of the School of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
